Google Airport, San Jose California

Google is going to build their own airport in San Jose, California to park their aircraft. The plan is, the 82 million USD facility will be used to house 8 jets of Larry Page, Sergey Brin, and Eric Schmidt, also their corporate fleet. Currently, Google kept their aircrafts at Moffett Federal Airfield. But Charles Grassley, Iowa Republican Senator believed that Google got a special treatment from NASA and only paying 3.7 million USD per year.

According to Schmidt, building a company airport will provide Google a long term stability and ability to grow. The deal is, they will lease the 29 acres airport for 50 years. The 'Googleport' itself will have executive terminal, multiple hangars, ramp space, aircraft, parking lot, retail shops and even office space. In all, the new facility would generate over $3 million in rent, fuel fees and taxes.

What's next? Google space center to strengthen their Google Maps, Street View, or Google Earth perhaps?
