Corning Gorilla Glass 4 Advantage Compared to Gorilla Glass 3
Corning has just released their latest display protection layer, Gorilla Glass 4. According to Corning, Gorilla Glass 4 is so much better at falling – it survives 80% of drops from 1 meter, on a hard surface.
For comparison, the new 0,4mm thick Gorilla Glass 4 is tougher than 0,7mm thick Gorilla Glass 3. That means that smartphone manufacturers can increase the strength of the screen of their products, without making them thicker than the previous generation.
The first Gorilla Glass 4 device will be ready in the market by 2015. Corning said, since 2007, more than 3 billion devices have used Gorilla Glass. Here's an interesting video of Gorilla Glass 4 by Corning:
