"Human Brain" is Being Created by IBM

IBM, Cornell Tech, and Unilab are working on a chip that is designed to equal with the human brain. Named Synapse (Systems of neuromorphic Adaptive Plastic Scalable Electronics), it consists of 1 million program, such as neurons in the brain, 256 million synapses program, and 46 billion synaptic program per second and per watt.

Cognitive computing is provided in the chip so it can be able to have a dynamic interaction between neurons and synapses, as occurs biologically in the human brain. It can transform mobility through sensors and applications to be enjoyed without the need for Wi-Fi.

The prototype of this kind of chip has been introduced in 2011, but at that time, they consists of 256 neurons. IBM's research team said the chip was developed into a 28-nanometer chip technology by Samsung. "It's amazing chip that can run the equivalent of a human brain on mobile devices that are energy efficient," said Vice President of Samsung Shawn Han.

Awesome or scarry?
