BlackBerry Choose Android for 2016, No BB10 Device
At CES Las Vegas, John Chen, BlackBerry CEO confirmed that they are going to use Android OS for the rest of 2016. They have no plan to release smartphone with BlackBerry 10 OS.
According to Chen, so far the first BlackBerry device using Android, the BlackBerry Priv, performs well in the market. They are going to cooperate with other network carriers in the US and go to 31 new territories within this year.
Are you a fan of BB10 OS? No worries. BlackBerry has no plan to kill the OS. Even though they have no plan to release any BB10 device, currently they are on the process of getting National Security certification.
It means that in the future, BlackBerry will be involved with US government projects and top secret affairs.
Ah, good news. My private messages will still secure :)
